Frequently Asked Questions

Shipping: Our processing time is a minimum of 5 working days and after that time your order will be shipped. We will not respond to queries about shipment dates if your order is less than 5 working days old.  Please also read our Shipping and Refund policies before contacting us regarding any issues with your order. Unfortunately we can’t ship overseas at all but if you know someone in Australia who would be willing to send it to you themselves you could have us ship to them and they could then forward it to you.

Custom requests: We only sell what is currently listed on the website. We cannot change products or make up custom packs on request as there is so little of our rare produce to go around and often items are prepacked to streamline our shipping process as well. We thank you for your understanding.

Apiary/Farm/Shop Visits: We are not open to the public at all/ in general as our apiaries are situated in many isolated locations across two regions so we can only take online orders. Scenic World in Katoomba usually offer tastings if you want to taste before you buy. We also sell our honey in various shops in the Blue mountains (Scenic world, Blue Mountains Food Coop, Leura Gourmet and occasionally Carrington Cellars) and in Sydney - we sell direct to Feather and Bone in Marrackville and Waverley, other select retail outlets in Sydney are covered by our distributors, Two Providores.

Royal Jelly, Pollen and Propolis: We don’t offer, or plan to offer, these bee products as the production methods required to produce them in the quantities necessary to sell them as official products can interfere with, and sometimes even harm, the bees - even if done carefully and during times of abundance. We prefer to maintain the natural amount of pollen and propolis found within the Wild Honey by pressing rather than spinning the honey from the combs.

Wholesale orders: For wholesale enquiries (retail, restaurants and food service) please contact our distributor, Two Providores, who service Sydney and other regions of NSW and the ACT.

Courses and Public Appearances: We are currently on hiatus from teaching natural beekeeping courses but occasionally Tim does attend one-off talks, workshops etc. If you are running an event and wish Tim to participate, please contact us directly using the form below. For intensive beekeeping courses and workshops please sign up to our newsletter to be notified of any upcoming events.

Reserving Stock: We don’t reserve stock for customers as it becomes too problematic given we have to supply restaurants, distributors and our online customers as well and product availability fluctuates so much due to weather and climate variations.

Media Enquiries: Tim and Malfroy's Gold have been featured in the media a number of times in the past and Tim also writes articles on Warré beekeeping with natural comb hives, the Australian environment, pollinators, food security and Australian honey. If you would like to engage Tim to write an article, or would like to feature Malfroy's Gold Honey in an article or story, please contact us below.

Gift Services: We don't offer gift services (wrapping, notes, cards etc) but we will ensure that the invoice is removed from the box and emailed to you instead if you request that - please be sure to write that you require this in the “notes” box in your cart before proceeding to checkout.

Seasonal Produce: Please be aware that our products are seasonal and yields are small as we try to disturb the bees' natural processes as much as possible, we do not feed the colonies and the bees construct the combs entirely themselves. Wild Honeys are usually produced in both our regions over Summer (sometimes late Spring and early Autumn as well). Our wild honeycomb is also produced seasonally  but due to the varying flowering patterns of the 1,500+ plant species occurring in the Blue Mountains, production can occur anytime between September - April. In good seasons, the wild honeycomb is available year-round, but if yields are poor then it may end up selling out quickly as it is popular. The yields are dictated by the weather and inherent strength of the wild colonies.

Bees and Hiveware: We don’t supply live bee colonies or queens. We are not selling Warré Beekeeping hives or equipment at present - we hope to do so again in the near future.

Exporting Honey and Business Relations: Regarding exporting honey overseas, entering into collaborative partnerships or our produce being sold then relabeled by another party, we simply cannot produce enough Wild Honey to enter into any of those ventures with other businesses while supplying our existing customers. The process to produce our incredibly rare Wild Honey and Honeycomb is very time consuming and requires a lot of manual work and seasonal conditions to be perfect to produce a very small amount.
